Tours have been a way for LifeLight to reach out to our hurting nation. One of the first stops on the tour was Ferguson, MO, a place where racial tensions have been so high, it is difficult for the races to communicate or even talk with each other. At another stop, a plant in town closed down, leaving 80% of their population without jobs. Both places are filled with hopelessness! LifeLight brought them Hope through Jesus on the tour. A perfect example is from a mom, Rebecca, whose son was at the Ferguson tour.
“Thank you for coming last night… My son’s heart was touched by the music and testimony… He went forward and accepted Christ’s love last night.”
These stresses are not unlike what happened in Jesus’ day where Jews did not mix with the Samaritans. In fact, many would take the long route around a city to miss interacting with those they felt were not good people.
Jesus did the opposite. He humbled Himself by accepting water from a Samaritan woman. He humbled Himself by dying a painful death on the cross. For us!!! “The reason Jesus didn’t call an army of angels to save Him, as He could have, was because He’d rather give up His life than give up on you.” (Word for You Today, 2016)
This Easter, will you be a part of helping LifeLight bring Hope to the hurting? For as little as $1 a day you can make an eternal change in someone's life.
John 4: 9-10 "The Samaritan woman said to him, “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.) Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked Him and He would have given you living water.”
